William Darbyshire

William Darbyshire, 82, of Galien, died peacefully, February 1, 2026, in the comfort of his family’s presence. 

His life began October 21, 1943 in Stratham, New Hampshire, son of William and Anna. He married PJ September of 1967 in Amesbury, Massachusetts.           

Bill was the best husband and father that anyone could hope for, loving, kind and straight-forward. He took amazing care of his family and a plethora of cats at his family farm, which was converted to a sanctuary for local wildlife.           

Bill will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years PJ Darbyshire of Galien, one son, Jonathan Darbyshire of Galien and extended family in New England.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will observe a private remembrance.

The family prefers contributions in memory of Bill be made to Michiana Humane Society.
