Tracy Woods Obituary

Tracy Annette (Fowlkes) Woods, 58, of Vandalia, entered eternal rest on December 8, 2025, surrounded by the love and presence of her family in St. Joseph, Michigan. Born on December 8, 1967, in Niles, Michigan, she was the youngest daughter of Sam and Betty Fowlkes. On August 5, 2015, she married Solomon Woods in Cassopolis, Michigan.

Tracy lived a life grounded in faith and unconditional love. She was a mother first and foremost, but she was also so much more to those blessed to know her—a cherished daughter, sister, wife, aunt, cousin, confidant, and friend. Tracy had a gift for making others feel seen, loved, and encouraged. Her spirit and smile lifted those around her, and people were drawn to the light she brought into every space she entered.

Her faith guided her through every season of life, even when times were hard. Tracy cared deeply for the people in her life and held those close to her in the highest regard. She touched countless hearts simply by being who she was—kind, fun, compassionate, honest, and full of grace. With quiet strength, she offered guidance, a listening ear, and the very best advice. Her life radiated warmth and understanding, offering strength, comfort, and encouragement to everyone around her.

Tracy loved creating beauty in the world. She found joy in gardening, fishing, singing, painting, and had an intuitive talent for interior design. Her home reflected her spirit—vibrant, inviting, and thoughtfully arranged—showing the love and care she put into every detail. Family was everything to Tracy. She treasured time spent together, especially during gatherings filled with laughter and music. Nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her children and grandchildren. They were her pride, her joy, and her greatest blessing.

Tracy is survived by her loving husband, Solomon Woods; her children, Julius Young, Walter Lee IV, Aeja Lee, and Aaron Lee; and her father, Sam Fowlkes III. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Sam “Sammy” (Felicia) Fowlkes IV; her four grandchildren, Rayyen, Zaira, Vince, and Saeeda; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her oldest son, John Young III; her mother, Betty Fowlkes; her grandparents, Leona, Joseph, Sam, and Bessie; her aunt, Barbara; and her nephew, Jeremiah.

We find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her oldest son and her mother, wrapped in God’s eternal embrace. Tracy’s legacy of love, faith, and strength will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Family and Friends will gather Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Wagner Family Funerals 202 North Broadway, Cassopolis. Her Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Calvin Township Cemetery.
