Thomas Wolf Obituary

Thomas Allen Wolf, 78, of Lakeside, died peacefully, Sunday, December 15, 2024, in the presence of his family, after a courageous battle with COPD.

His life began October 29, 1946 in Galien, Michigan, the middle child of four children born to Frank and Alice Wolf. He married Betty Mania in September 1979 in his own home in Lakeside, Michigan.

Tom proudly dedicated thirty-nine years of service to Weil-McLain before retiring. He had a lifelong passion for classic cars, with a special fondness for Mustangs. A devoted sports fan, Tom spent his weekends during football season cheering on the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and Michigan Wolverines. He also had an enduring love for western movies, which he often kept playing around the clock. In his later years, especially during the months of caregiving, Tom came to regard his step granddaughter, Linda, and his step granddaughter, Jennifer, as his own daughters.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Caring Circle Hospice for their compassionate care. A special thank you to Nurse Becky, whose expertise and kindness created a meaningful bond with Tom. Additionally, caseworker, Viv’s, thoroughness and empathy brought Tom comfort, and he truly enjoyed her visits.

Tom will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by two step-daughters, Mary Peck of Alanson, Linda Mania of Lakeside; four grandchildren, James, Jennifer, Francis, Travis; seven great grandchildren;  one great-great granddaughter; one sister, Jessie Davison of Three Oaks; one brother, Robert Wolf of Australia; one sister-in-law, Jane Wolf of Three Oaks, very special lifelong friends, Al and Peggy-Jo Cowgill of Lakeside; friend Dwain Vance; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of twenty-four years; one brother, Frank Wolf; stepson, David Mania; and numerous special friends and coworkers at Weil-McLain.

Family and friends will observe a private remembrance.

Mr. Wolf will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Three Oaks.
