Thomas Monroe Moore, 77, of Galien, Michigan, died unexpectedly after a brief illness, Thursday, May 21, 2026.
His life began September 22, 1948 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the second of four children born to Charles and Barbara Moore.
Tom was a true tom-boy. He attended Three Oaks High School and excelled at the FFA program. In 1965 he joined the Navy at only 17 years old, and was stationed at Great Lakes, Illinois. He then became a proud member of the American Legion in Galien, Michigan.
He was an articulate leather and suede craftsman and enjoyed working with his hands creating hats, coats and other items. Tom loved to fix and rebuild tractors. He worked on building replicas of barns in the Three Oaks area. Tom would then offer to sell them to the owner of the original barn for a humble profit. He was an avid gardener; growing many vegetables and an outdoorsman, often camping with family or friends.
Tom will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by three children; Kris (Mike) Olson, Angel (Mike) Dombrowski, and Thomas C. (Jamie) Moore, sisters, Sharon Carmon, Rita Pedzinski, and Janet Keefer Lagness. Also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandson, Matthew James Moore.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service, Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Galien American Legion Post # 344, 402 North Main Street, Galien, Michigan 49113.
