Samuel Jerome Feathers

Samuel Jerome Feathers, 81, of Jones, died peacefully Thursday, August 31, 2023, in the comfort of his family’s presence.

His life began July 12, 1942, in Watauga, Tennessee, one of ten children born to SJ and Dora Feathers.  He married Carolyn J. Lewis November 19, 1962, in South Bend, Indiana.

Samuel Jerome cherished his family and getting them together for meals and just spending time together.  He enjoyed playing euchre, rook, and poker, and he was quite good at those games.  He loved fishing.

Samuel Jerome will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Carolyn Feathers of Jones; two daughters, Laura (Rollin) Brenneman of Jones, Jennifer Feathers of Cassopolis; one son, Samuel R. Feathers of Marcellus; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Feathers of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Stanely Feathers of Osceola, Indiana, Richard (Sue) Feathers of Cassopolis, Roger (Miranda) Feathers of Cassopolis, Woody (Eleanor) Feathers of Cassopolis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Rebecca Feathers, Jeanette Buckland, Florence Heaton; one brother, Arthur Feathers; two grandchildren, Matthew Kauffman, and Malachi Kauffman. 

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Samuel Jerome’s life at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2023 in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 34 Sycamore Street, Niles, Michigan 49120.
