Ronald George Freehling

Ronald George Freehling, age 83, of Three Oaks, Michigan died peacefully Saturday, June 4, 2022.

His life began January 23, 1939 in the old farmhouse in Three Oaks, Michigan, one of seven children born to George and Marguerite Freehling.  He married Marie Polderman October 10, 1998 in Galien, Michigan.    

Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed bowling and playing cards.  He liked to travel and went on cruises.  He was a selfless person and took pleasure in helping others. 

Ron will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Marie Freehling of Three Oaks; daughters, Valeri Freehling of Buchanan, Kirsten (Malik) Shaheen of Des Plaines, Illinois; sons, Timothy (Evelyn) Freehling of Sturgis, George Freehling of Niles, Troy Gillem of Stevensville; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Beaudette of St. Joseph, Joyce (Bob) Schlutt of Bridgman, Debby Freehling of Three Oaks; brothers, Donald Freehling of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Daniel (Colleen) Freehling of Battle Creek, Dennis (Annette) Freehling of Sawyer; sister-in-law, Alice Stickels; brothers-in-law, John (Marie) Polderman, Bob Polderman, Paul (Debbie) Polderman, Mike (Wendy) Polderman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary (Kelly) Freehling; great grandchild, Jorden Carlysle; daughter-in-law, Shawna Freehling; and brothers-in-law, Wiliam Beaudette, Harry Polderman, and Jacob Polderman.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon in Wagner Family Funerals Pobocik Chapel, 106 Ash Street East, Three Oaks.

Mr. Freehling will be laid to rest in Galien Township Cemetery.

The Days of Ronald George Freehling

Ronald George Freehling was born Monday, January 23, 1939.  Dad was graced by God to walk among us for 30,449 days, leaving us on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Ron was a dutiful son, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.                                                                                                                         

On day 7,096, June 27, 1958, Ron took a bride, his high school sweet heart - Mary Elizabeth Kelly.

On day 7,585, October 29, 1959, Ron and his bride, Mary, were blessed with a son – Timothy Wayne.

On day 8,498, April 29, 1962, they were blessed with a second son – George Thomas.

On day 8,860, April 26, 1963, they were blessed with a daughter – Valeri Ann.

On day 16,496, February 24, 1984, they were blessed with a granddaughter – Christina Marie.

On day 16,937, June 6, 1985, they were blessed with a grandson – Timothy John.

On day 20,423, December 22, 1994, their second son brought 3 step grandchildren into the family when he took his bride – Shawna Ray.  The grandchildren Kellee Ray, Mishell Lee , Phillip Jay.

On day 20,521, March 30, 1995, they were blessed with a grandson – Jacob Eli Obadiah.

On day 21,103, November 1, 1996, Ron’s first bride, Mary was called by Our Heavenly Father to her Eternal Home.

On day 21,446, October 10, 1997, Ron took a new wife, Marie Gillem.  Ron and Marie shared 9,004 days before Our Lord and Savior called Ron to his eternal home.  Ron’s family grew by two Step Children when Ron and Marie wed.  The children – Kirsten and Troy.

On day 22,439, June 29, 2000, Ron and Marie were blessed with a Grandson - Kyle George.

On day 22,944, November 16, 2001, Ron and Marie were blessed with a Grandson – Nicholas Lee.

On day 23,212, August 11, 2002, Ron and Marie were blessed with a Granddaughter – Allison Leigh.

On day 24,403, November 14, 2005, Ron and Marie were blessed with a Granddaughter – Jessica Marie.

On day 25,396, August 3, 2008, Ron and Marie were blessed with a Great Grandson – Jayden James Allen.

On day 25,954, February 12, 2010, Ron and Marie were blessed with a Great Grandson – Jorden Lee.

Ron and Marie, on day 28,064, November 23, 2015, were blessed with a Great Granddaughter – Cadence. Noelle.

Ron and Marie, on day 29,847, October 10, 2020, were blessed with second Great Granddaughter – Addilyn Sarah. 

Ron days drew to an end on day 30,449 when he was called by Our Heavenly Father to his Eternal Home on Saturday, June 4, 2022 surrounded by his bride, his children and grandchildren telling him how they loved him and how he would be missed.
