Nina Joleen Hanner

Nina Joleen Hanner, 66, of Cassopolis died peacefully early Friday morning, July 26, 2024 in the comfort of her family’s presence.

Her life began April 6, 1958, in Niles, Michigan, the third youngest of eight children born to Byron and Elizabeth Solloway.  She married Jesse Hanner December 22,1991 in Cassopolis.

Nina cherished her family and loved visiting with friends.  She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and playing bingo.  She called herself, “The Bingo Queen.” She kept a positive attitude and had a great sense of humor. She had a chime on her phone that would remind her to pray multiple times a day.   

Nina will be greatly missed by family and friends.  She is survived by her husband, Jesse Hanner; sons, Matthew Hanner of Niles, Mark (Leandra) Hanner of Edwardsburg; sisters, Delores Solloway of Cassopolis, Helen (Ken Jr.) Focht of Edwardsburg, Verda Fletcher of Elkhart, Indiana; brothers, Chuck Solloway of Cassopolis, Gene (Luann) Solloway of Niles, Jimmy Solloway of Cassopolis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Brandon, and brother, John Solloway.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in Pleasant View Church of Christ, 60550 Crooked Creek Road, Cassopolis, 49031.
