Margaret E Wolkins

Margaret E. Wolkins, 99, of Galien, died July 13, 2023. Her life began April 9, 1924 in Bridgman, Michigan, one of fourteen children born to Julius and Emma Gast.  She married Stanley Harold Wolkins after several years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 1996.

Margaret was a very simple lady.  She loved canning, baking bread, crocheting, knitting, and quilting.  Back in the day, she made lots and lots of cheesecakes for the Fraternal Order of Police meetings. 

Margaret will be greatly missed by family and friends.  She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Terry) Hein of Galien; son, Jack Wolkins of Galien; grandchildren, Cindy (Grant) Bly, Chad (Tara) Mabry, Brian (Chris) Wolkins, Debbie (Mike) Hershberger, Scott Dalrymple; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Loretta (Robert) Crowley of Seymour, Indiana; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughters, Beverly Mabry, Carol Dalrymple.

The family will observe a private remembrance. 

Margaret will be laid to rest in Galien Township Cemetery.
