Karina Schroder, 36, of Benton Harbor passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, in her home surrounded by people who loved her.
Karina was born February 26, 1990, in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of four children to Mia and Prudencio Ramirez. She was a beloved daughter, mother and friend to many people. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Karina was employed at Vomela as a printer. When she was not at work, she enjoyed spending all her time being a mother to her children and stepchildren and being with her fiancé. Karina’s family meant everything to her. She looked forward to every moment spent with them doing simple things like cooking for her family and spending time at home. Karina had an extreme love for listening to music, enjoying art, flowers of any kind some of her favorites were lilies, roses and tulips and anything her favorite color, purple. She enjoyed uplifting others around her and making them laugh. Karina will be remembered most for her beautiful smile, caring, funny and silly personality.
She is survived by her mother, Mia Rivera of Three Oaks; her father, Prudencio Ramirez of Panama; her beloved fiancé, James Howell of Benton Harbor; one daughter, Kary Amigon; one son, Fidel Amigon; one stepdaughter, Lila Howell; stepson, Robert Howell; one sister, Nelly Rivera of Three Oaks; two brothers, Santiago Arellano, Jorge (Felicia) Arrellano; closest cousin, Lilla Rivera of Joliet Illinois; two nephews, Francisco Cortez of Three Oaks, and Manny Amigon of Chesterton, Indiana.
Karina was proceeded in death by her brother, Francisco Arellano; grandfather, Sebastian Rivera; uncle, Gabriel Rivera; and husband, Jeremy Schroeder.
Family and friends will gather Friday, June 12, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Wagner Family Funerals Pobocik Chapel, 106 Ash Street East, Three Oaks. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Please dress in white and/or purple for the funeral services.
Karina will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
