Julia Mae Epps, 82, of Colorado Springs, formerly of Cassopolis, died peacefully Monday, December 11, 2023, in the comfort of her family’s presence.
Her life began August 5, 1941 in LaGrange, Georgia. She married Bobby Gene Epps June 3, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. After fifty-eight years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 2018.
Julia will be greatly missed by family and friends. She leaves to mourn her passing and continue her legacy her three daughters, Angela Blackwell, Gina (Larry Harvey) Epps, Bobbie Jean Epps; five grandchildren, Tymil (Sedric) Heard, Brandi Parker, Jasmine Blackwell, Devin Culpepper, DaMarkus James; six great grandchildren, Ahnyiah Owens, Amari Parker, Alyssia Parker, Aeja Heard, Nikia Heard, Ezriel Foxx; one brother, Charles Truitt of Georgia; one sister, Mable Fredonia Jordan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Peter Truitt.
Family and friends will gather Friday, December 29, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. in Wagner Family Funerals Connelly Chapel, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis with the Reverend Rayvon Bufkin officiating. Julia will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Cassopolis, Michigan.
