John Leslie McIntyre

John Leslie McIntyre Sr.,87, of Cassopolis, died peacefully in the comfort of his family’s presence. His life began March 2, 1938, in Jefferson Township Michigan, the seventh of eleven born to Lenn and Edith Marie McIntyre.

 John loved to be outdoors. He spent time with his sons, hunting, fishing, mushroom- hunting and bird watching. John was everyone’s mechanic. He could often be found out under a hood. His birthday date with his daughter was always at the casino. John was a member of Cassopolis coffee club and was a regular. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

John will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by one daughter, Hope Marie (Kevin) Ruth; one son, John “Trapper” Leslie McIntyre Jr.; one sister, Rose (Tom) Green; two brothers, James (Connie Zablocki) McIntyre, Jerry (Jackie) McIntyre; nine grand-children, Joe Colpitts, Sabrina McIntyre, Jess Jr.McIntyre, Joseph McIntyre, Jamie McIntyre, Emily Odium, Joseph Moses, Isaiah Moses, Cierra Davison; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and special friend, Anna Kirk.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jess McIntyre; three brothers, Joe, Jason, Jerome McIntyre; four sisters, Mary Williams, Anna Rohacs, Edith Sharp and Sara Phillips.

Family and friends will gather Monday, May 5, 2025 11:00a.m. with his service to follow at 12:00p.m. in Wagner Family Funerals Connelly Chapel, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis.  John will be laid to rest in Reames & Norton cemetery.
