Jess L. McIntyre

Jess Lawrence McIntyre, Sr., 60, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in the comfort of his family’s presence.

His life began February 18, 1963, in Three Rivers, Michigan, born to John Sr. and Emily McIntyre.  

Army hero, to a goofy dad, to a loving grandfather…Jess loved playing the lotto but had many hobbies like cooking, crafting, gardening, and building things.  He loved nature from hunting to watching wildlife.  If you love dirty jokes, he made sure to tell them.  He cherished his family more than he showed, but he always made sure to capture all the memories he could by taking photos constantly. 

Jess will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by his daughters, Emily (Juergen II) Odlum, Jamie Wynn McIntyre; sons, Jess McIntyre, Jr., Joe McIntyre; stepchildren, Timothy Newton, Nonna Newton, and younger siblings, Joette Hemminger, Brandon Hemminger, Jr.; grandchildren, Eithan, Christian, Sophia, Keenan, Ava, Abbigail, Marriah McIntyre, Maliquai McIntyre, Mylee McIntyre, Aliah McIntyre, Gabriel, Kadyn, Riley, Lilian, Devon, Quentin, Juergen III, Geminiyah, and one on the way; his father, John L. McIntyre, Sr.; one sister, Hope Marie Ruth; brothers, John McIntyre, Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and many aunts and uncles. 

The family will observe a private remembrance.
