James Seedorf Obituary

James “Mike” Michael Seedorf, 85, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Wednesday May 13, 2026 in the comfort of his family’s presence.

His life began February 23, 1941 in South Bend, Indiana the only child of Leonard Seedorf and Lucille DeSelm. He married Susan Kay Harmon on November 8, 1969 in South Bend, Indiana.

Mike proudly served in the United States Airforce. He was a thespian during his high school and college years; participating in musicals. In college he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.  He had a love for adventure; he was an avid backpacker, sailor, and enjoyed his Viking cruises. He was a past Commodore of the Diamond Lake Yacht Club and assisted with bringing the National Ski Patrol to Bendix Woods and Swiss Valley. Mike accomplished his bucket list of exploring all of the seven continents.      

Mike will be greatly missed by family, friends. He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Susan; many cousins and his faithful dog Sheba.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will observe a celebration of life at a later time.
