Isom Stanford, 77, of Vandalia, died Friday, January 17, 2025, in the comfort of his family’s presence.
His life began October 5, 1947 in Lepanto, Arkansas, one of seven children born to Bud and Ollie Stanford. He married Wanda Lanell Golden May 30, 1969 in Arkansas.
Isom cherished his family and they always came first. He was a very loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather. His favorite hobbies were fishing and cooking. He enjoyed food and his family will dearly miss his homemade chili. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He would get so tickled at his own jokes, he would wind up laughing so hard, that they ended laughing at him. His puppy, Peaches, was his pride and joy.
Isom will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Wanda L. Stanford of Vandalia; two daughters, Brenda Stanford of Standish, Angela (Todd) Stanford-Jamison of Cassopolis; one son, Isom E. (Ashley) Stanford of Cassopolis; grandchildren, Larissa Jamison, Malik Jamison, Avaughn Jamison, Daishean Jamison, Tyeson Stanford, Tyelurson Stanford, Lorelei Stanford, Kimberly Stanford, all of Cassopolis, Braxton Dodson of Three Rivers, Brianna Stanford, Wanda R. Stanford, both of Standish; two great grandchildren; one sister, Lilly May of Arkansas; his beloved puppy, Peaches; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in Redemption Church, 9134 Black Lake Road, Eau Claire, Michigan 49111.
Isom will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
