Debra Ann Fitz, 70, of Decatur, entered into her heavenly home Friday, June 26, 2026. Her life began March 21,1956 in Manistique, Michigan, the first of four children born to Edmund and Kathryn Strawbridge. She married James E. Fitz, February 14, 1987 in Coloma, Michigan.
Debra graduated from Coloma High School in 1975. She enjoyed mission trips and volunteering at Grace Christian School and her Church. Debra was known as a giving and caring person. She organized the meal train, worked in the kitchen and helped with baby showers at Volinia Baptist Church. Debra’s friendships meant a lot to her. She could be found playing dress- up with grandchildren or riding her golf cart outside. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Debra will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband, James E. Fitz, of Decatur; two sons, Jimmie L. (Elizabeth) Fitz of La Vernia, Texas, Robert J. (Thea) Fitz of Lawrence; nine grandchildren, Eden, Christian, Kaden, Benjamin, Ethan, Miriam, Hope, Faith, Mordecai; two great grandchildren, two brothers, Edmund Strawbridge, Rodney Strawbridge and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
