Daniel Bowman Obituary

Daniel Thomas Bowman, age 40, of Cassopolis, died Christmas Day, 2020 in his home.

He was born June 22, 1980 in Duluth, Minnesota to Thomas and Debra Bowman.

Daniel was known by many nicknames throughout his life, including Danny, D-Bow, Bowman, and Bowmanator.  His family moved from Minnesota to Sterling, Virginia in 1987.  He graduated from Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Virginia in 1998, where he played Varsity Baseball and Basketball and was named Loudoun County Athlete of the Year his senior year.  He attended Radford University in Radford, Virginia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 2003.  After college, he returned home to Michigan where he worked as a camp counselor in Muskegon.

Danny moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where he built his adult life working in customer service.  He loved to work with college students and enjoyed being a mentor to up and coming professionals in his industry.  Dan was an avid sports fan and loved watching all sports, especially the Twins, Vikings and IU basketball.

Danny enjoyed following politics and was eager to express his knowledge, but always respectful of others’ beliefs.  He also enjoyed attending concerts and live sporting events.  He was a movie buff, even working at Blockbuster for a time in college and as known to quote movies readily and with perfect comedic timing.

Most importantly, Danny was a great friend, brother, cousin, uncle and nephew.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and a sharp wit and could always be counted on to make you smile.  He could make anyone feel welcome, enjoyed socializing and really loved life, his friends, and family.

Danny will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by his mother and step-father, Debra and Thomas Bruggner of Cassopolis; his sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Carl Savage of North Easton, Massachusetts; and two nephews, Matthew Savage and Joshua Savage whom he loved with all his heart.  He is also survived by his aunts, Mary Lou Bishop and JoAnn (Jim) Murfey, both of Valparaiso, Indiana; his uncle, Peter (Louise) Aimone of Gile, Wisconsin; his dear cousins, Michele (Charles) Foster, Amy (Keith) Chrise, Nicole (Scott) Ferris, Peter (Gail) Murfey, and Dan (Tracy) Murfey and families.

Danny was preceded in death his father, Thomas Bowman; grandparents Ernest and Marian Bowman, Peter and Helmi Aimone; step-grandfather, Bob Pieti; two uncles, David Aimone, Darryl Bishop; three cousins, Bryan Erspamer, Timothy Bishop, and Lori Burger.

The family will observe a private remembrance and will plan a celebration of his life on a date and at a time to be announced in the summer of 2021 when it is safe for family and friends to gather.
