Charles "Pete" Wheeler Obituary

Charles Lee “Pete” Wheeler Sr., 64, of Three Oaks died Friday January 9, 2026, in the comfort of his home.

His life began April 3, 1961 in Wilkinson County, Georgia, the youngest of seven children born to Willie Wheeler and Mamie Shivers.

Pete was an extremely hard worker. He owned a snow/landscaping business. He was dedicated and committed to his family and close friends. Pete always had multiple jobs. Some would call him the “jack of all trades”. Early on, he was hands on. If it needed to be done, you could count on him. He was a PRANKSTER all of his life. He worked as a school bus driver for well over 40 years. He was caring and loved talking to family/friends on the phone. He also loved having company. He loved to fish! He was determined and strong-willed. Last but not least, he was a ladies man; being how handsome he was.

Pete will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by his children, Charles Wheeler Jr., Senora Wheeler, Demaris Wheeler, Jamar Wheeler, Dimagio Wheeler, Travis Wheeler, Eric and Derrick Wheeler, Tyisha Wheeler, Elijah Wheeler, and Myisha Wheeler, fourteen grandchildren, four siblings, Mamie Wasp, Odessa Wheeler, and Bob Wheeler, Catherine Wheeler, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father Kurt, one son, Jonas Wheeler, and two nephew’s Thomas and Tan-tan Wheeler.

The family will observe a private remembrance.
