Carl Haines Obituary

Carl Lee Haines, age 57, of Cassopolis, died September 7, 2021 in the comfort of his family’s presence.

His life began May 10, 1964 in Niles, Michigan the youngest child of Ronald Haines and H. Elaine Parrish. He married Hope Wilson November 8, 1986 in Niles, Michigan.  

Carl’s family was his everything and would give the shirt off his back to others in need.  He was a loving husband, father, and Papa.  He was an avid fisherman and a skilled mechanic.  He enjoyed being a race car driver.  He loved playing cards on the weekends with family and friends.  He was a practical joker and loved his music.  He enjoyed hunting with his dad.  Carl was a hard worker and was always on the move.  If he didn’t have anything to do, he would find things to work on.  He was a dabbler and do-all.    

Carl will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by his wife of almost thirty-six years, Hope Haines of Cassopolis; daughters, Jamaria O’Bannon of Elkhart, Indiana, Brandie Wilson of Cassopolis; sons, Jeffery Haines of Cassopolis, Derrick Haines of Niles; grandchildren, Chase, Taeler, Aidan, Sophia, Owen, Kayleb; his mother, H. Elaine Parrish of Niles; sister, Gayl Price of Union; brothers, Larry (Jamie Fahlsing) Haines of Mishawaka, Gordon "Bud" (Brenda) Bickel of Jones, Gary (Kimberly) Haines of Buchanan, Gregg Bickel of Union, Robert (Rita) Parrish of Edwardsburg; extended siblings, Melinda Spencer of Niles, Melissa (John) Kelley of Niles, Danny (Melissa) Lane, Jr. of Niles; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald L. Haines.

The family will observe a private remembrance at this time. 

The family prefers contributions in memory of Carl be made to Cass County Animal Control, 323 M-62, Cassopolis, Michigan 49031.
