Betty Anderson

Betty Lou Anderson, 79, of Cassopolis died peacefully Friday, August 23, 2024 in the comfort of her family’s presence.

Her life began September 11, 1944 in South Bend, Indiana the second of six children born to Ted and Mary Banicki.  She married Roger L. Anderson June 26, 1965 in Niles, Michigan.

Betty’s love and passion was church and family, as they were her focus.  She had the gift of service and she was happiest doing for others.  She was an amazing homemaker.  Her forte was baking.  She enjoyed baking sweets mostly and her cookies will be missed.  She was an avid reader and talented seamstress.  Betty and Roger enjoyed wintering in Florida and camping in the UP during the summer.               

Betty will be greatly missed by family and friends.  She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Roger Anderson of Cassopolis; two daughters, Melinda (Jeff) Steinke of Niles, Jennifer (Adam) Bauer of Cassopolis; six grandchildren, Sarah (Nick) May of Indianapolis, Indiana, Catherine Steinke of Baroda, Emily Mee of South Bend, Indiana, Riley Bauer of Niles, James Steinke of Bridgman, Zoe Bauer of Niles; one great grandson, Anderson; three sisters, Carol Morrow of Niles, Nancy (Greg) Park of Niles, Ruthie (Dave) Frank of South Bend, Indiana; two brothers, Russell Banicki of Niles, Ernie (Kathie) Banicki of Niles; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends will gather Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6:00 p.m. in Wagner Family Funerals Connelly Chapel, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis.

Betty will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in a private service.
