Obituary

Michael Dan Simmons, Sr., age 65, of Cassopolis, died Thursday, May 28, 2020 in his residence.

He was born November 16, 1954 in South Bend, Indiana to Clifton Sr. and Gazella Simmons. He married Danielle Yvette Clayton June 19, 1991 in Cassopolis.

Michael was a good hearted, but stubborn, man who liked his Harley and women. He cherished and loved his children, grandchildren, animals, and guns. He liked to stay busy and making people happy. He cherished his farm, woods, and perimeter checks.

Michael will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Danielle Simmons of Cassopolis; daughter, Julie M. King of Cassopolis; son, Michael Dan Simmons, Jr. of Maine; thirteen grandchildren; sisters, Marsha Simmons of South Bend, Indiana, Cheryl Covey of Elkhart, Indiana; brother, Ken (Cindy) Allen Jr. of Vandalia; niece, Lisa Allen of Elkhart, Indiana; and nephews, John and Nick Allen, both of Elkhart, Indiana.

The family will observe a private remembrance.
